She is currently Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology at the Department of Health Sciences (University of Florence) and guest Associate Professor at the Department of Psychiatry & Neuropsychology (Maastricht University, The Netherlands).

She is Editor of the journal Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics, Past-President of the International College of Psychosomatic Medicine, General Secretary of the Academy of Well-Being Therapy, General Secretary of the International Federation for Psychotherapy.

She received the EPA Research Prize (2009), the Global Research Award for Nicotine Dependence (2010), and the Y-Mind Center for prevention of mental disorders award (2013). She published more than 90 papers in WOS international journals, 17 book chapters, 1 monograph.
